Smoke and soot cleaning and odor removal
Smoke travels through vents, closets and wall cavities, so a small kitchen fire can leave residue and odor in rooms that never saw a flame. We remove the residue and treat the odor at its source.

Why smoke damage needs the right method
There are different kinds of smoke residue. Dry, powdery soot from fast-burning materials cleans differently than the sticky, oily residue from plastics or a kitchen fire. Using water or the wrong cleaner first can push residue deeper into paint and fabric. We test surfaces and pick the method before we start.
Odor is part of the cleanup
Covering smoke odor with fragrance does not last. The odor stays in materials until the residue is removed and the space is treated. We clean surfaces, HVAC grilles and contents, and use odor treatment so the smell does not come back on the first humid day.

Questions
Smoke and soot cleaning FAQ
Will the smoke smell go away?
In most cases, yes, once the residue is removed from surfaces and belongings and the space is treated. Odor that remains usually means residue is still somewhere, so we look for the source.
Can I clean soot myself?
Light residue on hard surfaces can sometimes be cleaned, but wiping soot with water or a household cleaner often smears it. If you are unsure, call us before you try.
Do you clean clothes that smell like smoke?
Yes. Textile cleaning and deodorizing is one of our specialties. See our textile restoration service.
